Salvation Army Food Drive

Description:

The Salvation Army has an urgent need for canned food.  Their supply of canned goods is lower than it has ever been. They have had smaller canned food drives recently, lost many regular food drives through covid, and some of their regular sources through government connections are currently unavailable.

 

We encourage any one who is able to donate, to bring the food to one of the following locations:

Hope harbor 

525 W. Lockeford Street 

hours: Monday-Thursday 8:30-11:30 

Closed for lunch between 11:30-12:30

Open from 12:30-4:30

Friday: 8:30-11:30

All food is welcome, but the items below are always needed (canned, boxed, dry):

fruits and vegetables

rice and beans

macaroni and cheese

spaghetti noodles and or sauce

peanut butter and jelly

soups and stews

cereal.

 

Special items needed right now are diapers (specifically size 5 and 6) and laundry detergent for doing laundry at the Salvation Army shelter.
Other items for the shelter are always needed include razors and shaving cream, tooth brush and travel size tooth paste, shampoo (trial size / travel size).
